YSEA LAB VISIT

Dunham Lab room 106, 10 Hillhouse Avenue 10 Hillhouse Avenue, New Haven

To foster connections between the different engineering communities in Connecticut, YSEA and IEEE CT Section are holding a tour of two facilities at Yale.  This meeting is to vist the Yale Grab Lab and Center for Engineering Innovation & Design.  Pizza and sodas will be served beforehand.  The evening will begin at 6:00 PM with introduction of graduate students from the GRAB Lab, and attendees from YSEA and IEEE. This, along with pizza provided by the IEEE, will be held in the Mann Student Center (Dunham Lab room 106, 10 Hillhouse Avenue). Then from 6:30 to 7:15, we will have a tour of the Lab, which conducts research into robot manipulation and bio-robotic systems. Current research topics include robotic hands and dexterous grasping and manipulation, upper-limb prosthetics, human grasping and manipulation, and assistive and rehabilitation devices. See also  https://www.eng.yale.edu/grablab/  That will be followed by a tour, from 7:15 – 8:00 PM, of the Center for Engineering Innovation and  Design, which may be loosely thought of as an internal Maker Space. It is further described at  http://ceid.yale.edu/  If there are more than 25 registrants we will split the group, and each group will tour a lab, and then rotate to the other.
